Purpose:

This is a very nourishing mask, packed with anti-oxidants, Vitamins and Minerals. It is ideal for dry - very dry, depleted skin.

Prickley Pear Oil: Prickly pear oil contains the highest amount of vitamin E of any other beauty oil on the market. In fact it contains 150% more vitamin E than argan oil. This oil is also extremely rich in essential fatty acids including omega 6 and 9, antioxidants, polyphenols, amino acids and vitamin K.

It also has a high content of essential fatty acids which help calm down any inflammation and redness especially for those prone to rosacea.

Prickly Pear oil also contains the highest amount of betalains than any other plant including beetroot, Goji berries and Acai. These super antioxidant pigments help to protect skin against ageing from various types of damaging radicals which would otherwise encourage wrinkle formation.

Aside from its content of betalains, this seed oil contains amino acids which may help stimulate collagen production. Containing vitamin K, prickly pear oil helps to brighten hyperpigmentation areas such as dark spots as well as being of benefit for under-eye dark circles.

African Rooibos: Rooibos tea also contains zinc, which has shown potential to help treat common skin conditions such as eczema and acne. Rooibos also contain superoxide dismutase, which has anti-aging properties and helps to slow down skin ageing. Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme that works to produce healthy skin cells. This enzyme works alongside other antioxidants in rooibos to fight free radicals that can accelerate the aging process. Rooibos extract has a very soothing effect, it reduces irritation and redness and promotes an even skin tone.

Licorice Root Extract: One of the most potent and active compounds of licorice root extract is Glabridin, which has skin lightening properties and prevents the production of the enzyme tyrosinase, which makes the skin go dark after exposure to the sun.

Kigelia Africana: contains iridoids (Verminoside), naphthoquinones, flavonoids, terpenes, and phenylethanoglycosides. Its traditional medicinal applications include the treatment of various skin related disease such as eczema, fungal infections, psoriasis and boils. In skincare products, kigelia is mostly used for it's skin lightening, firming, fighting acne bacteria in addition to it's high content of antioxidants that fight free radicals.

How to use it:

After using the appropriate enzyme peel/ mask, rinse the skin with water to neutralize the PH, then apply African Rooibos & Prickly Pear Mask, passage it into the skin for 1-3 minutes, then leave it on for up to 20 minutes. For extra skin smoothing and tightening, you may layer over it with Tahitian Gardenia & Vanilla Mask, or / and Agave & Orange Blossom Mask.
